About Street Dreams

Street Dreams of Kansas was founded in 1989 by Bob and Bev Cooke for no other reason than their love of custom cars and the people that owned them. The Cookes had spent three seasons touring the country on the ISCA circuit with a '09 Ford C-cab called "Middle Age Crazy" and becoming a producer of custom car shows just seemed like the next rung on the ladder of progression. The Cookes had been to a lot of cities and made many friends on the circuit...it seemed to them that a participant friendly, family oriented, fun filled venue was missing on the ISCA circuit and The Street Dreams Rod and Custom Car Show was formed to fill that void.

There have been several venues that have been part of Street Dreams over the years, but Joplin, Mo. is the constant that has stood the test of time. The Cooke's children, along with Al Schoenwetter, have been a vital part of Street Dreams operations for the majority of its years, so it was only natural that when the Cookes decided to retire after the 20th anniversary show in 2006, their son Dwight and Al Schoenwetter would continue with the new Street Dreams Motorsports Expo. Starting with the 21st annual event, the focus is still the same...clean family oriented fun for both participants and spectators that love really cool custom hot rods.
